It’s ok. A bit of a walk, and well, watch out for flying things.

But, overall I am glad I saw it. The name of the lake is so iconic.

I wanted to see the lake up close.

It's worth it to see the place.

This park gives you access to swim in the salt lake, which seems like a good idea but there were just too many bugs! Huge spiders (and spiderwebs everywhere-- on the visitor center and restrooms) and swarms of flies. Dozens stuck to each person's clothes in my group. We couldn't even put our feet in the water, as it was just too overwhelming. Other people there seemed to be having a good time and ignoring the bugs, but the flies really were everywhere. You couldn't open your mouth at all. Rethink coming here.

Do not listen to the hate! This place is great! Yes it is a bit smelly. Yes it has a lot of bugs (not as bad in hot summer or cold winter). Yes all the cool spots are a bit of a walk but I can tell you it is worth it. Go for a sunset if you can because it's the best. They have an old pier, old water cars, even old pipe lines you can check out. This place is one of a kind and you will kick yourself if you miss it. The only other place close to it is the Dear Sea.

The water really isn't as bad as everyone says it will be. Yes the brine shrimp and flies aren't necessarily pleasant company but I would not avoid floating in this Dead Sea-like experience all because of just that! If you are chicken to take a dip at least enjoy the vista--its worth the short 25 minute drive from downtown Salt Lake City.

Pass here by I80, stop and see sunset. Sunset is beautiful. However I didn't find any foot wash or shower so I gave up going into water. The park website said it's interesting to float on the salty water but didn't provide that convenience.
